IT TECHNICIAN: This is a sales, customer service, repair/install, and commission based position. Please visit our website to learn more about our company. The IT Technician will receive devices from customers, listen and discuss the problems, diagnosis software/hardware, and provide appropriate steps for troubleshooting. IT Technicians will run diagnostic tools on Apple, Android, and Windows devices, networks, servers, and provide options to customers; take appropriate actions based on authorization from customers. Repair, replace, install, and/or upgrade hardware and software, or replace customers’ device entirely. Follow the appropriate standards of operation from check-in to resolution to check-out process. Wage: Non-exempt, full-time Hourly base wage dependent on City minimum wage and experience Additional earnings on commission – earnings upwards of $100k annually Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent plus 2-3 years’ experience in similar role. Customer service and Sales experience required; comfortable working on commission. BSIT or similar degree preferred. CompTIA certifications, ACMT, MCSE, a plus. Eligibility Proof of eligibility to work in the USA Pass background check Possess a California Driver’s License; provide a clean DMV record, proof of insurability, as this position does sometimes require driving. Must live within reasonable commuter distance. A candidate will possess some or all the following experience/skills: The following duties are normal for this position. Create a first-rate customer experience Understand both hardware and software parts of a device and able to identify internal components Repair, replace, upgrade hardware within the device Install operating systems and other software such as: MS Office, financial programs, web browsers, email clients, etc. Utilize latest diagnostic tools for computers and networks Utilize virus detection protocols and programs Perform data recovery, backup, and migration Respond in writing to questions through different forums such as website, yelp, thumbtack, homeadvisor, etc. Answer customer telephone calls, utilizing scripts as provided Accept payments from customers for services Create invoices, work orders, and purchase orders through POS system, breakdown pricing as needed per customer requests Manages deadlines and multiple priorities simultaneously Sales of PCs, Macs and OS software and devices Set-up servers, connected computers, and printers and troubleshoot connections Setup networks, gateway/routers, cabling, cameras, TCP/IP diagnosis Service calls off-site to homes and businesses or connect remotely There are 6 locations: 2 in Santa Cruz County, 4 in the Silicon Valley, South Bay Area.
