The Advertising Sales Director manages the advertising sales process from initial contract to continued relationship management. This role will also be responsible for consistently demonstrating the values of the advertising department’s culture of success. The ideal candidate is a cultured advertising sales professional with a competitive and inquisitive nature. POSITION SUMMARY: The Advertising Sales Director manages the advertising sales process from initial contract to continued relationship management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans and directs the organization's advertising strategy from a business, sales, and technical perspective Develops budget and projections for advertising Oversees discussions and sales with sponsors and agencies and negotiates agreements with outside sales representatives Leads the development of sales materials including media kits Has experience with or understanding of luxury hospitality market and luxury brands Liaisons with independent sales reps from non-local markets to align client sales strategy and increase brand awareness ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of verifiable success in ad sales - print and digital preferred; experience with luxury brands is preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or a related field Skills: A strong knowledge of both print and digital components of publishing/media industry Excellent negotiating skills are a must A proven track record in achieving and exceeding advertising sales goals Demonstrable expertise in prospecting, inside and outside sales, closing deals, and maintaining multiple client accounts on a renewal basis Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with clients and advertising agencies at all levels An established strong and widespread network of contacts within the media industry i.e. agencies and clients Strong knowledge of MS office and CRM software Determined, self-motivated, and organized with an entrepreneurial nature Self-starter, dynamic and results oriented all while working in a team environment Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
