About the role: Enterprise Information Solutions (EIS) plays a key role in providing research support and information resource access across all of Boston Scientific's business units. This Senior Librarian position will be a member of the EIS team and will focus support on Endoscopy and Urology and Pelvic Health information needs. Your responsibilities include: Primary area of support: Clinical literature research for notified body reporting for Endoscopy and Urology and Pelvic Health divisions, working with clinical and regulatory teams on scope and output to meet reporting guidelines and timelines. Additional research support: Leverage the EIS collection and other external sources to perform efficient and comprehensive biomedical, business and technical database searches; Seek new sources and proxies when appropriate; Deliver end products that are clear and structured to address the issues at hand; Guide customers in the use of the EIS collection when appropriate. Infrastructure support: Refine and improve EIS processes and contribute to building a successful team and a service culture - This can manifest in a variety of project-based assignments under the guidance of the EIS Manager - Project examples include process and technology enhancement, customer education, marketing and outreach. The Librarian is expected to drive his/her development path under the direction of the EIS Manager and in compliance with Company policy. The Senior Librarian should expect responsibilities to change over time as s/he gains experience in the position and as the information needs of the company and Endoscopy and Urology and Pelvic Health divisions in particular change. Quality System Requirements In all actions, the Senior Librarian will be expected to demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable: Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy. Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System. What we’re looking for: BA/BS required. MLIS/MLS degree preferred with minimum of 5 years' experience in a healthcare (medical device, pharma, biotech) and/or corporate (marketing, advertising) environment Excellent problem solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with the medical device/healthcare industry and/or demonstrated ability to quickly learn Strong proficiency of relevant secondary research tools and information retrieval techniques (AlphaSense, Embase, Factiva, MEDLINE, Profound, PubMed, STN) Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-pace environment; ability to prioritize with demonstrated ability to lead on initiatives Excellent people skills, strong team orientation to work across geographies, and professional attitude to allow agile and proactive responses to changing business demands and opportunities Minimal travel associated with role About us As a global medical technology leader for more than 35 years, our mission at Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) is to transform lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients.
