Job Description

Overview The Managed Network Services Technical Sales Engineer serves as a first level technical sales resource to all Managed Network Services customers of Sharp Business Systems. The Technical Sales Engineer also provides technical support to new and prospective customers. This position requires the ability to analyze a client’s business needs, develop and present technical solutions, and gain customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements. The candidate will need to translate complex concepts and/or technical information into layman’s terms to foster the highest regard and respect at all client organizational levels. In addition, he or she must anticipate the client’s needs and proactively address problems, adapting to different client environments and customizing solutions to meet customer’s business objectives. Responsibilities Be a technical resource for existing or potential customers, ensuring that needs are identified early on in the decision-making process Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers Confer with customers and sales team to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements Plan/modify products and services to meet customer needs Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with the sales team, architects, and other professional and technical personnel Inform customers of technology trends and assist in identifying solutions that solve their business problems Help clients solve problems with installed equipment Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks and Microsoft Windows Servers Design, build, migrate, and troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure technologies Responsible for the communications and resolution of customer concerns in a timely manner Qualifications Current Microsoft certification CISCO ASA experience SBS 2008 / 2011 experience a plus Minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience with Microsoft Server and network equipment Has worked in a consulting role, or project managed environment, for at least 3 years Has worked for more than 2 years in Enterprise environments in a hands-on IT role Network-based Storage Technology (SAN) experience a plus Microsoft Office 365 and related technologies a plus SAN experience with managing HP and Dell based disk systems Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment VMware certification a plus Must have exceptional communication skills Must be energetic, self-motivated and work well in a team environment 80% local day travel / 20% remote work Must possess a valid driver’s license Sharp Electronics Corporation is an equal opportunity employer – minority/female/disability/veteran #LI-SD1
