Product Owners are responsible for the execution of the product development vision and strategy for their assigned product(s). The Product Owner works with a variety of partners to understand business requirements, build and maintain the product backlog, and successfully lead development efforts through their respective life cycles. This position provides a clear solution description and outline of product features for easy comprehension and consumption by IT and other business partners. Product Owners could be assigned sole responsibility for an individual Product, inclusive of development and support, or support a Product Manager across a suite of products. Responsibilities: Work with the Product Management Team to understand business cases and goals in order to execute on the vision; play a key role in the development of assigned products, including planning, refinement, user acceptance testing, retrospectives, sprints and scrums Manage product road maps for features and capabilities to ensure alignment of product development efforts with strategic business plans Support the Product Management team to create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog according to business and product strategy Ensure delivery of well aligned, high value solutions through the use of product life cycle and agile development methodologies; assist with the elaboration of epics, themes and writing user stories and evaluate product progress at the end of every development sprint, accepting or rejecting completed stories Partner with and serve as a liaison between Product Management, IT, other internal partners and external vendors to ensure products are meeting organizational strategies and objectives Support IT with development of feature acceptance criteria, test planning and analysis and the analysis of operational issues Assist with the implementation of projects to ensure successful customer enablement within appropriate budget guidelines and project timelines, communicating project status to stakeholders Monitor and report on key performance indicators within owned products to evaluate product performance and adoption Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or other applicable field Two to three years experience as a Product Owner, Technical Project Manager or Business Analyst Experience working in an Agile environment preferred Competency-Based: Executing Takes action to meet goals and objectives Follows a business plan Accomplishes tasks according to the direction and instructions provided Working With a Team Works well with a diverse group of individuals Places the team’s needs and goals ahead of those of the individual, when necessary Fosters an environment of camaraderie Detail-Oriented Demonstrates a strong attention to detail Provides facts and details when conveying information Thoroughly reviews information for accuracy and consistency Analyzing Gathers and examines information from multiple sources Studies facts and details Considers past experiences and history Communication Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing Clearly communicates messages, thoughts, and ideas to others Demonstrates strong presentation skills Flexibility Readily adapts to change Moves easily from one task or responsibility to another Is able to perform tasks or complete processes in ambiguous situations
