The Accounts Receivable Clerk maintains accounts receivable records and ensures customers are properly billed in a timely manner. Verifies and records transactions, resolves account discrepancies, and performs other tasks to ensure AR records are accurate. The clerk supports month-end close and special projects as requested. Assists corporate financial officers and branch personnel as necessary and maintains a high level of professionalism and internal/external customer service in a facility environment..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives, processes, verifies, and reconciles all necessary documents to ensure accurate input and output of data
Verifies entries by comparing system reports to balances
Submits AR batches to Corporate Finance for reconciliation
Creates invoices timely and accurately
Reconciles monthly sales summary and assists in close month closing
Ability to understand and apply sales and use tax properly
Ability to process and follow-up on rush items
Maintains accounts receivable files and document retention.
Maintains list of unbilled jobs by reviewing on a regular basis and resolving any stale-dated items
Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts
Maintains and expenses in-house inventory usages
Records and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for job functions
First back-up for production payroll timekeeping & related functions
Special projects as assigned
The Accounts Receivable Clerk will have no employees reporting to this position.
Associate degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
Computer proficiency in Windows-based software applications (i.e. Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) required; high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets required.
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Payroll timekeeping skills preferred.
Knowledge of accounting procedures.
High proficiency with 10-key pad and numeracy skills.
