Lead individuals and activities involved with the inquiring, procuring, and expediting of goods/services such as raw materials, major equipment, parts, supplies, and other materials associated with the MHPSA supplied equipment (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator and associated parts with new and service demands). Responsible for project procurement order contractual requirements including meeting or exceeding budget, delivery dates and quality. Responsible for managing the procurement schedule for all demands and requirements. Coordinates with other internal departments and all MHPS companies (including Japan based departments) as well as external suppliers to deliver products on or ahead of schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Advanced Leadership position requiring knowledge of the organization’s business practices and issues, this role requires you to:
Support to upper management in effort to meet corporate goals, objectives and projects.
Maintain positive informational exchanges and communications with all groups and organizations contributing to the fulfillment of material demands
Manage and lead Sourcing team as well as being a central point of coordination for the activities in this process. Be able to resolve conflicts at the appropriate level and in a timely manner.
Work very closely with multiple organizations including MHPS Teams in Japan, NGS Sales & Commercial Teams, OEM Services Sales & LTSA Teams, PWPS, MD&A and other business units.
Utilized Continuous Improvement strategies in all facets of the role to remove waste from all processes.
Develop a Supply Chain to satisfy all product & service demands
Lead the process to establish, evaluate, and select suppliers in order to develop a qualified supplier base including risk analysis, contract negotiating (terms & conditions, bids, etc.), supplier selection in support of MHPSA demands and long-term strategies/goals.
Support project based procurement activities including capital equipment as well as tooling & fixturing at SMW and Vendor locations. Provide a central point of coordination for the activities in this process
Establish long-term agreements with suppliers.
Reviews long range forecast and usage cycle of a specific commodity or group of commodities to create a successful procurement strategy
Review and evaluate monthly global sourcing data to make decisions that support company direction and growth.
Responsible for SMW Indirect sourcing including contract development, negotiation, performance evaluation and improvement actions.
Maintain a Strong focus on fulfillment
Responsible for Leading & Managing the fulfillment requirements for Savannah Machinery Works (SMW) from early forecasting into project contractual NTP through site delivery, while maintaining budgetary and quality requirements
Establish, track, and maintain parts/resource and material demands identified for all projects.
Develops detailed plans to mitigate risk and meet supply chain goals. Able to identify and correct risk items early and without negative financial impact to MHPSA.
Monitor supplier production capacity; ensure buyers split requires in accordance with capacity plans
Leads communication efforts with Japan based departments along with other MHPS companies including conference calls and collaboration visits.
Be able to report to Leadership at all levels risk to future fulfillment and actions being taken to resolve.
Lead efforts to reduce Lead Time and Product cost through Direct Material Productivity (DMP) and the Get 20/20 Program
In order to be competitive in the Power Generation market, this role will need to lead aggressive efforts with the supply chain to reduce lead time & cost, in line with MHPS targets.
Engage entire supply chain on goals and actions necessary. This may include product redesign, DOR shifts, developing low cost suppliers, etc.
Track & coordinate efforts of suppliers while supporting DMP Leadership. Be the focal point on communicating timelines to plan and progress towards goals. This will include all product lines such as GT/ST/Generator/Combustion Parts/Service Components/Rotors/etc.
Strong collaboration and leadership traits are needed to support this long-term goal
Ensure all suppliers adhere to design requirements and quality standards
Prior to awarding work to a supplier, ensure proper audits are completed and documented.
Follow established supplier & part specific qualification processes to ensure suppliers can fulfill orders with scope and/or contractual requirements of advanced complexity and advanced commercial and/or financial risk.
Must be aware and manage contracts to verify vendor compliance to requirements.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Maintains, reviews and makes improvements based on supplier KPI’s
Works directly with Design Engineering to identify, record, disposition and problem solve supplier’s non-conformances to both products and processes.
Travel up to 35%; including international travel
Perform other such duties as may be required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university (Master Degree a plus); with preferably 10 years of directly related experience in the power generation industry or Industrial Sourcing.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc. MUST be proficient with all MS Office Programs: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Exp. with Business Intelligence tools, CRM, Primavera, MS Project would be a PLUS.
