The Business Intelligence and Analytics Manager at Cook MyoSite is responsible for empowering departmental resources with the tools, knowledge, and data to perform their duties efficiently and enable intelligent data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of data professionals to support the development and administration of company’s data warehouse and analytic platform tools
Act as system owner for full stack of Business Intelligence solution suite, processes, operating procedures and maintenance
Establish Statistical Process Controls, identify key manufacturing metrics and process improvements, and enable improved metric and reporting capabilities
Provide forecasting, simulations and optimization strategies as requested by department leads
Provide statistical guidance and data mining analysis
Assist in data analysis, data summary and interpretation of results, and formulation of appropriate recommendations
Interface across all departments to assist in the identification of improvement opportunities, eliminate process redundancy, reduce cost, and facilitate more efficient use of resources
Ensure and maintain open communication with other departments for realization of department and company goals
Function as a key stakeholder in all company electronic records and data management initiatives
Mentor colleagues on both the technical and business aspects of data projects and statistical work
Assists in the evaluation and transfer of new technology and processes related to data management
Ensure accuracy and integrity of all work performed within department
Work with executive management to align strategic objectives and priorities, and establish timelines in support of new and ongoing department projects
Shall act as management and function in a leadership role
Participate in the hiring, development, retention and optimal performance of staff for the leadership and execution of operations
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Obtain ongoing industry related education and attend appropriate conferences and workshops
Must maintain company quality and safety standards
Qualifications
Direct previous experience, Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or other quantitative discipline
3+ years interfacing with database systems (e.g. MySql, SQL Server, OLAP) or related technology, and preparing, collecting and validating data
3+ years experience in the development and maintenance of BI reporting applications, such as Power BI, SSRS, Qlik, Tableau, Cognos, etc.
3+ years experience in working with data migration and ETL tools; SSIS preferred
2+ years experience in a management role over data professionals, with ownership over data warehouse and application servers
Experience with traditional statistical software tools (e.g. JMP, SAS, R, Minitab) and programming languages (e.g. C, C++, C#, Perl, Python, Java, etc).
Experience in exploring data using analytical as well as graphical tools for relationships, patterns or effects
Ability to exercise sound judgment in conducting and interpreting scientific research
Familiar with emerging data mining and multivariate techniques and methods, with a penchant for continuous learning in related areas of research (PCA, PLS, Clustering, graph search, regression, random forests, forecasting, Bayesian statistics, neural networks, cluster analysis, natural language processing, and Monte Carlo methods)
Working Knowledge in Lean Six Sigma Process
Willingness and capability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to apply established scientific principles, theories and concepts in area of responsibility and experience in writing protocols and other technical documents
Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, independent thought, problem-solving, and scientific creativity
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with others
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other departments/groups Must have effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
Experience communicating findings via academic journals, white papers, or other key stakeholders
Physical Requirements:
Office, warehouse and laboratory setting with potential (limited) exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or harsh disinfectants while in BioSafety Level II
Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication
Visual and manual acuity for working with computers and equipment
Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required
Ability to work under specific time constraints
Must be able to sit at desk, in meetings and/or work on a computer
