Job Details Description Sun City Hilton Head is the largest active adult community located in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry built on more than 5,000 acres. Position Summary: Primarily responsible for providing direction and focus to all Lifestyle event components for Sun City Hilton Head Homeowners Association. Coaches, motivates, and, develops leadership staff in pursuit of association goals and enhancement of resident experience. The Director also provides staff support and guidance to the Executive Director, the Association Board of Directors (BOD), and other team departments as necessary. Position Responsibilities: Directs a staff of manager level employees in residential HOA program development, delivery, and, budget goals. Manages staff in the functional areas of event planning, ticket sales, chartered clubs, room reservations, event set-up, production, and any other department related duties. Organizes special events, such as charity fundraisers and events co-sponsored with resident clubs. Promotes programs directly through demonstrations, community information distribution channels, and special programs. Works with Lifestyle team to develop processes to ensure the consistent delivery of high quality programs. Develops and maintains community relationships and resources to enhance/diversify program development for the benefit of the Association and its residents. Develops and manages departmental budget. Reviews and approves requests, documents, and print/video media related to the department. Develops articles, for publication in monthly magazine. Professionally represents association in all resident correspondence ensuring consistent application of rules. Troubleshoots challenges. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to design and coordinate programs that enrich the quality of life and enhance the vibrancy and overall experience of living within an HOA Community. Effective and dynamic public speaking skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills paired with high energy, initiative, and enthusiasm. Computer proficiency with respect to Microsoft Office Suite, database software, internet and website portals, point of sale system, registration processes, policies and procedures, equipment, material and products, etc. Ability to lead people and get results through others. Ability to interact and work positively and effectively with staff, volunteers and board members at all levels. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions, changes and delays while remaining focused. Ability to problem solve exercising good judgment and decision making. Ability to adapt and adjust to change. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to interact with residents and staff. Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary. This position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting. Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills. Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard. Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns. Must be able to work effectively and professionally in a dynamic environment. Experience Required 5 years: Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience coordinating and promoting events/activities and programs, volunteer programs and/or fundraising events. Experience managing leadership roles to delegate responsibilities and hold accountable for job duties. Valid driver’s license. Knowledge and experience within the HOA management industry highly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience can be substituted for the minimum requirements on a year-for-year basis.
