A Planning Analyst is responsible for the Forecast and Demand Planning processes for the countries assigned. To create and maintain forecast models for each SKU in a respective market. This includes working with business leadership, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing and finance departments.
Develop monthly product forecasts for new, existing and promotional products.
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
Interact with sales, marketing, logistic and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers and general management.
Provide input to the Supply Chain organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with the supply chain and product marketing organizations.
Create statistical forecasts:
Gather, analyze and validate data.
Review resulting statistical forecast model.
Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting.
Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts.
Review promotional plans with sales.
Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing and finance personnel: - Prepare relevant material to facilitate research and discussion
Provide input to volume planning ( Latest Estimates / annual process)
Monitor trends in forecast error.
Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process and promo results including forecast accuracy.
Maintain 12 months rolling forecasts.
A customer demand forecast which incorporates current and accurate market information that allows the company to correctly predict customer demand and provide its supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand.
Improved relationships among planners, sales, marketing and finance, which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal general management consensus forecast to better guide the company.
Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs.
Education / Experience:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field is required.
Minimum 2 years of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning experience required.
Strong Experience in Excel doing formulas and pivot tables
Experience with ERP systems SAP S4 - MRP
APICS or other forecasting Certifications or Licenses preferred.
Knowledge on methods to examine data to formulate strategies and help the company succeed and grow.
Strong computer skills to work with various types of software, particularly spreadsheet applications, to create reports, find data, and examine information
Problem-solving skills to isolate issues relating to risk, productivity, and other business operations, and find ways to manage and fix these issues
Strong verbal and written communication skills to speak effectively with other staff members and create written reports
