The objective of the YMCA Marketing Internship is to provide a valuable learning experience to marketing/advertising students in their junior or senior year of college and to assist YMCA managers with reaching program and department goals and objectives. INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE: The Marketing Internship Program is about 250 hours in length, 10 hours per week for a total of 25 weeks, spread over the Fall and Spring semesters. Also open to interns that are only able to commit to one semester, but candidates that can commit to both semesters are preferred. The hours and focus area(s) of the internship are customized based on the intern's needs and the needs of the Marketing & Annual Campaign Director at the time. Duties may include assisting with social media management, annual campaign planning, collateral design, planning and facilitating special events, assisting with membership sales promotions and member appreciation programs. The Marketing & Annual Campaign Director serves as the intern's manager. The manager will work with the intern to customize the program, while at the same time assuring that the needs of the YMCA are met. The manager and intern will meet weekly and review expectations to assure that they are clear. At the same time the intern is completing the internship, they will also be working on a final project to be completed and presented before the completion of the program. Qualifications We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Must be currently enrolled in a college or university at a junior or senior level. Must be pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising or a related field. Ideal candidates have the ability to take initiative as well as have a passion for the community and/or an interest in the non-profit sector.
