The QA/QC Manger is responsible for NPC’s overall quality program including development, implementation, documentation, employee training and management of all aspects of the quality program both in the home office and all job sites. Responsibility will include addressing multiple projects for NPC as required to assure compliance with all applicable codes and client requirements. Typical work location will be in the Home Office in Cranberry Township, PA, but will require project site visits along with on-site support as needed. Additional duties may be assigned including, but not limited to, sales, project management, estimating, training, and safety depending on overall division work load.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the NPC QA Manual including joint reviews, control and distribution, and compliance in accordance with the applicable codes and state requirements.
Responsible for all aspects of the NPC weld program including control of weld procedures, tracking of welder qualifications, correct use of the MOST welder qualification program, and maintenance of welder qualifications per the requirements of the code and client requirements.
Provide QA/QC direction and managerial oversight for all job sites on quality program related matters. Must assure work is being performed correctly, documenting the work and maintaining the records as required by the codes, the client and NPC requirements. This is to include proper instruction at the start of the project and site audits during the project.
Oversee data collection and evaluation to assure project goals are met for both NPC and the client.
Ensure that QA/QC personnel are qualified, properly trained and certified to perform the assigned activities.
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with NPC’s designated Authorized Inspection Agency. Assure all required R 1 forms are sign and distributed as required.
Serve as designated primary customer contact for quality related items during project execution and ensure that all contract quality issues are identified, adhered to and resolved with the customer in accordance with the contract and required codes. Responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationship.
Ensure that personnel actions and projects are managed and executed in compliance with NPC processes and procedures and applicable NAES policies.
Develop effective working relationships between employees to work towards common goals as team members.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for all aspects of the NAES Power Contractors quality programs both in the office and on all projects. Position is partially accountable for long-range planning. Must have the initiative and ability to determine own practices and procedures and develop new policies and objectives as necessary. The position is responsible for support of the company’s policies and objectives. Duties are performed independently with general oversight provided by the VP/GM. All employees have a responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customers' needs are being met. Position requires a self-directed person who displays a high degree of integrity. Position works with others in pursuit of business opportunities with new clients.

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Position requires knowledge, skills, and experience in construction and maintenance/modification environment. Must have expert knowledge of the related quality codes and industry standards. Must be computer literate with a high level functional understanding of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other standard software programs. A strong background in administrative and managerial duties required. Must possess ability to establish effective working relationships within and between work groups and an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have good presentation skills and ability to interact at all levels within the company and with clients.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related major or the equivalent combination of education and experience is highly desired. Must possess a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or equivalent. Must have a minimum of ten years of successful practical experience in QA/QC for large industrial construction including inspection, documentation, turnover package preparation, R1 completion and welder certification and weld procedure qualification. At least five years supervisory experience highly desired.
Normal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday though Friday, however project demands will dictate adjustment to this schedule including extended hours, travel, site assignment, on-call availability and demands beyond the normal job description.
Requirements of employment and client site requirements may require fitness for duty testing including medical evaluation, random drug and alcohol testing and /or criminal background checks and driving record.
