Forterra is a leading manufacturer of pipe and products in the U.S. and Eastern Canada for a variety of water-related infrastructure applications, including water transmission, distribution and drainage. Based in Irving, Texas, Forterra employs more than 6,000 people and operates more than 110 facilities, with products available throughout the U.S. and Eastern Canada. Effective October 1, 2015, Cretex Concrete Products, Inc. became part of the Forterra Building Products family of companies. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Dispatcher at our Maple Grove location. This position will report to the Operations Support Supervisor. In this position, the Dispatcher will help facilitate accurate, on-time delivery of quality concrete products while balancing customer service and shipping costs along with supporting the administrative duties associated with operating a manufacturing plant. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor, record, and prioritize the shipment of all finished goods Make proactive contact with customers to set up delivery, service and delivery load tickets Manage delivery dates and coordinate delivery of product with in-house scheduling, plants, and hauling Generate daily reports Assist with plant clerical functions REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma required. 2+ years' experience in customer service, manufacturing, transportation or construction. Bachelor's degree preferred. Communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing to all levels of people inside and outside the organization professionally. Understanding of manufacturing and shipping processes. Exceptional interpersonal, customer service and listening skills including the ability to solve problems proactively, and exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of precast concrete industry or underground construction desirable. Proficiency with computer programs including: Dispatch Application, Syteline ERP system. Proficiency with common computer programs including: Microsoft office, Google Earth and Adobe. Demonstrated success in balancing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic and dedication. Ability to apply effective time management and self-management skills. Ability to be flexible and productive in an environment with regular interruptions. Understanding of DOT regulations and specialized haul equipment desired. Logistics (Dispatch Application) and ERP systems software (Syteline). Possess thorough, organized, strong data entry skills and detail-oriented approach to work. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook, Internet and other database applications. Must have a valid drivers' license and ability to travel 5 percent of the time.
