Cummins-Wagner Co. Inc., is seeking an Industrial Sales Engineer at our Hagerstown/Western-MD, market. Cummins-Wagner specializes in the sale and service of pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, water heaters, cooling towers and air compressors. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE : Outside Sales Engineer activities include building customer relationships through face-to-face meetings and customer site visits; handling customer inquiries and coordinating quotations, proposals, aftermarket services, and other follow-up for customer base, prospecting territory for potential new customers; understanding and applying fluid handling equipment; troubleshooting and problem solving; and maintaining ongoing relationships with principals, customers, and engineering firms. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop long-term relationships with customers and engineers throughout the territory. Target customers are industrial accounts in the territory outlined above. Work with applications engineers to apply, design and specify the optimum industrial equipment that will satisfy the needs of the customer. Continuous presence at all customer facilities in territory to promote the most current pump, compressed air, vacuum, heat transfer, and process equipment technologies. Frequent travel required for customer/sales calls, territory development, training or other business purposes. Product and market expertise. Effectively communicate with a broad array of customers including management, engineering, maintenance, and purchasing staff. Review and evaluate customers’ technical requirements, prepare proposals, and execute a follow-up process utilizing inside sales support, company tools, and guidelines. Cultivate revenue opportunities for aftermarket services with existing customer base. Maintain positive relationships with principals and establish effective marketing practices for their products. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Technical or Business degree preferred. Industrial sales experience with proven results preferred. Training and experience with pumping systems, compressed air and vacuum systems, heat transfer equipment, and process equipment preferred. Computer skills: Microsoft Excel & Word required. Experience with other Microsoft products; pump related software, and data analysis preferred. Customer Service, Negotiation, Presentation Skills, Product Knowledge, Client Relationships.
