Job Description

Study Group, a global education firm, is looking for enthusiastic, creative and globally conscious students at its North American University partners for its Marketing Student Worker Program. The student workers will serve an essential role in acting as a liaison between the university’ student population and the Marketing Department. The main responsibilities of the student workers will revolve around content research, creation and curation in order to clearly articulate key selling points of the Study Group university partner to an international audience. A communications/journalism background is helpful, yet not required. What you will do: Research potential pieces of content for our different channels (social, digital, print, etc.) to reach international students. Create content pieces that fulfill the marketing department’s needs and articulate the unique selling points of your university. Write relevant blog posts about student life and academics for our social media channels and website. Capture interviews of students, staff and faculty members. Capture photography, video and audio to expand the marketing department’s asset library. Periodically take over our Instagram channel. Collaborate with International Study Center and Study Group staff to plan and support on-campus events for international students and agents. Increase communication with the on-campus university marketing departments to build and nurture relationships and improve collaboration. Who you are: Current student at a TAMUCC. Current/former ISC students and international students preferred but not required. Media, communications, journalism and marketing students preferred, though not required. Creative and enthusiastic. Must have basic video interview skills for shooting interviews with iPhone/GoPro. Outgoing and social. Not afraid to approach strangers and able to relate to people from different cultures and backgrounds. Culturally sensitive. A storyteller. You know the parts and structure of a good story and are able to articulate a story clearly from beginning to end. You are able to write in English with proper spelling and grammar. If hired you must be able to submit verification of your legal right to work in the U.S. Compensation: Minimum wage. Commitment: 15-20 hours per week. Minimum of 1 semester, with the option to extend beyond that.
