Background HUSTLE Winston-Salem exists to facilitate and promote a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem by working with both entrepreneurs and community stakeholders. We focus on and advocate for those that are most at-risk for systematic exclusion or marginalization in the local innovation economy: People of Color including but not limited to Black/African-American, Hispanic/Latinx, Asians, Native Americans, and immigrants Women of all races, ages, classes, backgrounds, and education levels Marginalized Neighborhoods for whom entrepreneurial development can serve as a catalyst for needed economic growth or that at risk for gentrification Job Summary HUSTLE is delighted to announce the Marketing Intern positions. The position has the opportunity to grow into a full-time role. This position will start immediately. The Marketing Interns should be social media savvy, highly motivated individuals who are interested in expanding a brand. This opportunity is great for college credit. The Marketing Interns will also work with community partners in collaborative efforts.The ideal candidate should have excellent written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools. Ultimately, a successful Marketing Intern should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day presence of HUSTLE throughout social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Candidates does not have to be proficient with all platforms, but the group of candidates selected will collectively be proficient on all of them. Reports To Executive Director Responsibilities: Help distribute marketing materials Help organize marketing events Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media and web) Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback Research and evaluate marketing and digital content Monthly strategy meeting with Executive Director Assist with researching, writing, editing, and proofreading of social media posts Create social media posts Monitor and respond to social media posts and tags Generate engagement on social media platforms Maintain brand voice and personality Synthesize social media analytics Skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms Basic design skills Ability to multitask and take initiative Hardworking and dedicated outlook Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly Outstanding multitasking abilities Interest in marketing Requirements/Other Competencies Perform as a highly motivated intern who understands its vital importance to the organization Able to prioritize multiple deadlines decisively and quickly; strong time management skills Strong active listening and communication skills; customer service orientation Understand the systems and operational requirements of the office and confidently identify, foresee, and address issues that might disrupt office priorities and inhibit productivity Keen attention to detail in a highly dynamic environment Consistent and comprehensive follow-through while handling multiple issues at any one time Work with minimal supervision and a strong desire to independently problem solve Operate within the organization as a confident team member and to project a strong, positive, and constructive image on behalf of the organization Strong skills and interest in researching topics, working with databases, collecting and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative information Proactive work ethic, highly self-motivated; capacity to work independently, but still take direction and work with existing systems Bring a positive attitude toward collegial engagement to solving environmental challenges Compensation Internship may offer a stipend.
