The Area Manager is responsible for selling product to proprietary customers such as supermarkets, party stores, drug stores other outlets. The Area Manager calls on established accounts and makes cold calls on prospects. The Area Manager sells products and uses sales techniques to increase amount of product ordered. The Area Manager also is responsible for servicing each account and assisting with merchandising product for attractive displays. The Area Manager also prepares advertising and point of sale advertising materials.Responsibilities
Drives to accounts. May make between 20 and 35 sales calls per day.
Calls on established accounts or makes cold calls on prospective customers. Makes many phone calls to clients.
Will see established customers weekly and/or 2 times monthly for smaller volume accounts.
Check inventory, merchandising aids and equipment such as cold box coolers.
Merchandise shelves and coolers and make product displays look attractive.
Presents current sales programs to store owners or managers.
Prepares orders, checks on existing product orders and solves customer problems particularly in regards with product complaints, product damage, shortages, returnable bottles and billing problems.
Check out trucks from time to time to make sure orders are correct.
College Degree preferred
3 years previous direct sales experience
Valid Driver's License (less than 5 points)
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
Outgoing personality and strong work ethic
