The role is responsible for providing expertise and support in the area of commercial software contracts of all types (including SaaS, PaaS, software licensing, and professional services) with a particular focus on resellers and Cloudera’s direct and indirect customer sales generated in Latin America but may also support North America field sales.
The Contracts Manager is expected to work remotely unless a Cloudera office is in close proximity and will report to the Senior Director of Contracts for US West. Some limited travel may be required. No relocation is offered with this position.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with others in Cloudera cross-functional teams and with customers to provide contracting expertise in negotiating agreements for new and follow-on business.
Ensuring compliance within the agreement terms to company policies and guidelines.
Drafting contract paperwork; advising management of contractual rights and obligations; mitigating contractual risks; compiling and analyzing data; maintaining historical information.
Balancing competing priorities of constituencies as compared to business needs and using astute judgment as to when to seek executive-level direction.
A minimum of 7+ years of experience in negotiating sell-side IT contracts.
Knowledge of legal issues affecting software companies globally required, such as issues related to data privacy; cloud business models such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS; IP protection; and software development. Knowledge of open source issues also a plus.
