Job Description – Program Manager
Global IT seeks Program Manager for the Global IT Deployments team. This team is responsible to deliver right products to Amazonians at right state and right time. We deploy Minimum Lovable Product (MLP) at scale inside Amazon. We deal with product type such as software, services, hardware and hybrid (hardware & software combo). Our program is scaled to deploy products from 100 to several thousands of Amazonians. The deployments team plays a critical role helping product teams test their products in Amazon to gather customer feedback before product becomes publicly available. The Deployments team is the gatekeeper for any new products to be tested/used by Amazonians and we advocate for our customers globally
In this role you will work in conjunction with various internal and external stakeholders to guide the design/build, test, and deployment of complex and cross-functional technical solutions to address a wide variety of IT infrastructure gaps and problems. You will take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, help guide the development of functional specifications and draft project schedules and milestones, then work with engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery of those solutions. You will work with stakeholders to identify technical and resource options to successfully deliver the designed architecture, assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, and ensure we are driving product adoption
Drive effective product deployments across multiple disparate groups globally with competing priorities
Partner with and influence IT teams across all regions and locations to ensure we are delivering what our internal customers need to be successful.
Work with IT communications teams to ensure strategies and campaigns taking into account our IT needs.
Develop and manage IT projects from beginning to end, including guiding product development, project scope, timeline, capacity planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
Proactively manage change control and communicate impact in project scope, identify risks & issues, and devising contingency plans.
Proven experience in managing programs / categories / business verticals.
Strong process orientation; ability to find efficient solutions to problems and automate tasks.
Strong stakeholder management experience; ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets.
Ability to deep-dive into a problem; very strong analytical skills required.
High bias for action required.
Ability to thrive and perform in an ambiguous setting; sound judgment and flexibility in balancing program requirements, tight deadlines, and keeping people and projects moving on schedule.
