We are a seeking a Splunk SME to be responsible for supporting cybersecurity solutions and architecture for the U.S. federal government and specifically the Department of Health and Human Services and their Operating Divisions. Responsible for developing solutions leveraging the next generation Splunk platform and other capabilities and processes to further enhance and improve existing security capabilities. Scope will include facilitation of customer discussions for clarifying requirements, capabilities and delivery expectations, demonstration of Splunk products and services both on-site and remotely, presenting advanced concepts and proposals to senior executives and at field events and conferences, and analysis and development of well-designed solutions to general requirements. Responsibilities: Ability to demonstrate Splunk products and services to customers on site, remotely via webinar sessions, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows Analyze customer’s cybersecurity architecture, tools and processes for developing a proposed roadmap ensuring compliance with Federal security requirements Willing to travel to visit prospects and customers, and to engage in onsite customer work when required Experience responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs is also important Self-motivated with a proven track record in technical software sales and knowledge of technology Strong presentation skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports Ability to be organized and analytical, and must be able to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches You should be comfortable working for a dynamic technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base Qualifications: Education: 4 year degree in IT Related field Required Knowledge/Experience: 5+ years implementing Splunk capabilities for large organizations (5,000+ employees) 10+ years relevant experience in selling and supporting software products to IT organizations Experience with Public Sector (A&D FSIs highly preferred) Experience and familiarity with IT management products and services Experience with networking, server, application and development technologies Domain expertise with IT operations, security or compliance is desirable Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be available to travel to visit prospects and customers Preferred Knowledge/Experience: Knowledge of virtualization (VMware / Citrix) and cloud technologies (AWS / Azure) Big data” technologies (Map-Reduce, Hadoop, HBase, Cloudera, Cassandra) Comfortable approaching total strangers and quickly extracting technical know-how from them 3+ years of selling to or working with FSIs and alliance partners Physical Requirements: N/A Other Responsibilities: Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract Perform other duties as assigned Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
