The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Regional Sales Manager – Residential and Agricultural – East Coast Territories include: ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, MD, DE, NC, SC, VA, GA, AL, TN, FL.. The regional manager will direct, coordinate, educate, and provide leadership for the sales rep, territory managers & market development managers using strategies that fully integrate and address all product lines. This position is responsible for achieving all sales and operating income goals for product mix within their region, is accountable for setting targets for direct reports to meet America’s breakthrough operating plan. Critical to the position is to articulate a clear vision of the challenges and opportunities facing the pump industry within the region and take a proactive approach to sales development and problem solving at all levels. Drive cross-selling opportunities across products, regions and value centers, establish and maintain good customer relationships with internal and external customers, secure maximum market share and sales dollars of the products consistent with the established sales policies and programs. The regional manager will develop, communicate, and implement innovative sales, marketing and pricing strategies for the region. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: Directs the activities of the Territory Managers and Market Development Managers in the region including forecasting sales, maintaining/controlling and expense budget, preparing sales quotations, negotiate and/or assist in obtaining sales or complex proposals, directing, staffing, etc. Also, oversee the integration of Xylem synergy products. Conducts training for distributors and/or representatives in effective sales techniques and application of products. Works with marketing to assess the company’s product pricing competitiveness. Recommends ways for product price adjustments consistent with quality, value, and performance requirements. Create Special Promotional Incentive for Focused Sales (SPIFS) to incentivize sales through product management and pricing focus and other creative measures. Manage and directs the region to achieve its growth, income, margin and other financial targets, and preserve capital funds invested in the enterprise. Develops and implements sales and marketing plans for the promotion of AWS products in the assigned region. Leads and directs the development and preparation of short and long range financial, plans, budgets, and other business metrics based on broad VC goals and growth objectives for the region. Identifies and evaluates distributor candidates in the marketplace and develops plans to obtain business. Establish and conduct regular meetings with their direct reports and others as necessary for the purpose of developing strategies, reviewing performance, disseminating information on new products, sales policies and pricing, etc. Provide leadership, development skills, understanding of company objectives and policies and provide the tools necessary to work and develop the respective region. Conducts training of sales personnel. Assist in determining specifications or design features through the Voice of the Customer to improve customer satisfaction and expand the scope of application of current product lines and new product development ideas to grow the business. Participate in Customer Council meetings on an annual basis. Assesses market conditions and competitor practices and make recommendations to Marketing to enhance business opportunities and selling strategies in the region. Actively collaborate with colleagues throughout AWS to ensure Xylem interests are well represented within all market segments. Communicate and coordinate with marketing, engineering, operations, customer service and other relevant departments to promptly and accurately address customer issues. Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: BS Business, Marketing, Engineering or related Sales Experience: Minimum 10 years, with experience in the pump industry preferred Strong Residential and Agricultural Segment experience Sales & marketing, financial, managerial, selling, motivational, leadership, meeting facilitator, interpersonal, forecasting, strong technical skills, interview and training Must live in the east coast territory Physical Demands: (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
